Omega Air desiccant dryer installation in Oil Rig
Back in February, an oil rig docked in Scotland experienced issues with a Parker 250 bar desiccant dryer, as key components had become obsolete. Hollingworth Design challenge was to specify a suitable replacement that required minimal alterations to the existing plan.
Although the rig operated on an unusual 110V, 60Hz power supply, this presented no challenge for the Omega build team. We designed a new electrical circuit, completed submission and successfully placed the order.
Following the order, the rig’s sailing date was brought forward, reducing the available build time to just 8–10 weeks. Thanks to dedicated transport arrangements and efficient coordination, the team minimised lead times and kept the project on track.
The new dryer was installed and is expected to deliver years of reliable, fault-free service. With thousands of units operating worldwide, the Omega HP Dry range has earned a reputation for robust build quality.
Standard pressure ratings range from 50 to 420 bar, with options up to 500 bar available for specialised applications. Also, flow rates span from 50 to 1600 m³/hr, depending on operating pressure.
